How to activate your AAVS
Once your AAVS application is approved, you will receive an activation letter by mail. You may choose to activate the AAVS function within 30 days from the issue date of the letter through one of the channels below:
Octopus card (including watches, ornaments, etc.)
- Use compatible Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled mobile device to activate the AAVS function in the Octopus App; or
- Bring along the activation letter, your identification document and the registered Octopus in person to any Customer Service Centres at MTR stations to activate the AAVS function. If you do not act within this 30-day period, you will have to contact Octopus Cards Limited to re-arrange the activation letter to activate the service; or
- Activate the AAVS function with an Octopus PC Reader via the Internet.
Octopus on Apple Pay, Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay or Octopus Mobile SIM
