How to use PayPay
When you see the PayPay logo or a PayPay QR code sign at the merchant's entrance or cashier area, you can easily make payments using the "PayPay QR Payment in Japan" feature in the Octopus App as follows:
Scan Merchant QR
When you see the PayPay QR Code sign, simply scan and pay!

Scan the merchant's PayPay QR code.

Enter the corresponding Japanese yen amount for payment.

Upon hearing the PayPay sound, the transaction is completed! Please confirm the transaction details with the merchant.
Show PayPay Payment Code for Merchant Scan
When you see the PayPay logo, simply show the payment code for the merchant to scan.

Tap on “PayPay QR Payment in Japan”.

Show this code for the merchant to scan.

Upon hearing the PayPay sound, the transaction is completed! Please confirm the transaction details with the merchant.
Self-Service Checkout Machine
When you see the PayPay logo or PayPay QR code sign at the store, the self-service checkout machines also accept PayPay.

Select to pay in Japanese on the Self-Service Checkout Machine screen. Then, press the Japanese button "バーコード決済 (Code Payment)".

Tap on "Travel" icon at the bottom right corner of the Octopus App.

Tap on "PayPay QR Payment in Japan".

Follow the screen instructions to display the PayPay payment code for the merchant to scan.
