Octopus Launches Hong Kong’s First Ever Multimodal “Travel Super Pass”

HONG KONG, 23 September 2025 – Octopus Cards Limited (Octopus) today announced the launch of Hong Kong’s first multimodal "Travel Super Pass", designed to enhance the travel experience for all inbound visitors, particularly in the upcoming National Day Golden Week.

The "Travel Super Pass" is a special-edition Octopus card and the first to cover multiple transit operators citywide. It aims to simplify their travel experience by providing free rides on select public transport routes for two days. This allows visitors to explore the city's iconic landmarks and cultural attractions with ease, without the hassle of purchasing individual tickets.

Key Features

• Ride: Enjoy free rides on specific public transport routes for two days of MTR, KMB, Long Win Bus, Citybus, Star Ferry, and Sun Ferry*. After the free ride period or in areas not covered by the free rides, the card can be topped up to pay for transport using the Octopus balance.
• Shop: Serves as a standard Adult Octopus card, allowing for payments at over 190,000 Octopus acceptance points across Hong Kong, covering dining, entertainment and shopping. Top up anytime.
• Travel: Functions as a China T-Union Card, accessing public transportation in 336 cities in the Mainland and Macau, facilitating seamless travel across borders in RMB, with automatic foreign exchange conversion from HKD-to-RMB for transport payments.
• Collect: Two limited-edition designs featuring vibrant colours with iconic Hong Kong landmarks and a lovely panda star, making it a unique souvenir.

The "Travel Super Pass" will be available for purchase from 1 to 3 October at promotional counters in the arrival halls of Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, and Austin MTR Station. There are three different free rides' expiry dates: 1 – 2 October, 2 – 3 October, and 3 – 4 October. Each card will be priced at $198 (no deposit and no stored value). Quantities are limited and available while stocks last.
