Octopus Accelerates Digital Transformation and
Mobile Payment Adoption Through “Octopus Go” Campaign
Including offers and prizes over $4.5 million in total value
Hong Kong, 23 June 2025 – Octopus Cards Limited (Octopus) yesterday launched its "Octopus Go" campaign, a strategic initiative highlighting its expanding ecosystem of digital solutions and offers. This campaign underscores Octopus’ commitment in delivering superior customer experience and driving the broader adoption of mobile version of Octopus and Octopus App, from daily payments to travel services.
The "Octopus Go" campaign marks a significant milestone in Octopus' evolution as a mobile-first fintech. It aims to serve the diverse needs of today's customers with a robust portfolio of digital products.
The core "Go Mobile" initiative ensures universal availability of Octopus services across major smartphone platforms: Android, Apple, and Huawei. This enables users to effortlessly manage daily payments, utilise automatic add-value services (AAVS), and make online and in-app purchases.
As part of this redesigned experience, the new "Travel Corner" within the Octopus App streamlines and refines all travel-related services. This includes cross-boundary payments in mainland China, South Korea, and Thailand*; high-speed rail ticket purchases; and outbound ride-hailing in Southeast Asia.✝ This expansion provides a more integrated and efficient payment experience across various aspects of urban and international travel.

Driving Mobile Adoption Through Strategic Promotional Initiatives
To accelerate the transition to mobile payments and encourage broader adoption, Octopus is rolling out a series of compelling promotional activities, totaling more than $4.5 million:ǂ
- "Octopus Go: Mobile Octopus Black Card" Lucky Draw: From today to 20 September 2025, Mobile Octopus users can earn lucky draw entries by registering via the Octopus App and making transactions or topping up their Mobile Octopus via AAVS. Prizes include a Mobile Octopus Black Card bundled with 365 instances of $250 AAVS (value at $91,250). Six winners will be selected over the three-month period, with the total prize value of $547,500. This initiative aims to incentivise active usage and engagement with the mobile platform.
- New Mobile Octopus Customer Welcome Offer: From today to 20 September 2025, new customers who register or transfer a physical Octopus to their mobile device and complete a single transaction of $50 or more will receive a $100 Octopus top-up value. This offer is designed to facilitate seamless onboarding for new mobile users.
- Mobile Octopus Spending Rebate: From today to 20 September 2025, Mobile Octopus users who register via the Octopus App and spend with their Mobile Octopus can enjoy up to a 5% rebate, capped at $100 Octopus top-up value per customer. This encourages consistent usage and provides tangible value back to the user base.
- New Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS) Customer Offer: From today to 30 September 2025, new AAVS applicants who successfully top up at least once and register via the Octopus promotional page will receive a $100 Octopus top-up value. This promotes the adoption of a key convenience feature, ensuring uninterrupted service.
Customers only need to register once for joining all three tiers of promotion offers. They can update the app to access the dedicated "Octopus Go" section within the Octopus App.
Octopus remains committed to collaborating with various sectors to deliver more convenient and intelligent payment experiences for Hong Kong citizens through technological innovation, thereby contributing to the development of Hong Kong as a smart city.
