Octopus Launches Inaugural 8.28 JoyYou Fest with $8.28 million

• Over 60 brands to unveil new, special offers for JoyYou cardholders with $8 rebate on-top of $100 or above purchases at participating merchants.
• JoyYou cardholders can access these special merchant offers at over 3,500 locations across Hong Kong.

(Hong Kong, 26 August, 2024) Octopus Cards Limited (“Octopus”) announces the launch of the “8.28 JoyYou Fest” slated for 28 August, the first-of its-kind celebration and campaign catered to the lifestyle of the JoyYou cardholders.

Following the government’s “$2 Scheme” that was effective on 25 August 2024, Octopus is set to distribute a substantial cash rebate totalling $8.28 million. Under the Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities programme, JoyYou cardholders can enjoy the $2 fare on designed modes of public transportation.¹

JoyYou Fest aims to encourage JoyYou cardholders to enjoy an active lifestyle and activities with friends and families, helping to boost local consumption and economy.

Over sixty brands participate in this launch with exclusive offers tailored for JoyYou cardholders. JoyYou cardholders can access these special merchant offers at over 3,500 locations across Hong Kong. During the 8.28 JoyYou Fest, cardholders can seamlessly leverage their JoyYou Card to unlock discounts on all food purchases at participating merchants.

Octopus hosts the first 8.28 JoyYou Fest
Spend $100 or more at participating merchants during the 8.28 JoyYou Fest to receive an $8 cash rebate

Octopus will host its first JoyYou Fest on 28 August and offer cash rebates to JoyYou Card holders. From 28 August to 10 September 2024, JoyYou cardholders can receive a cash rebate of $8 upon spending $100 or more in a single transaction with JoyYou Card at physical outlets of participating merchants. The total rebate value is $8.28 million. During the promotion period, each JoyYou Card can be used for this offer up to 100 times, which means every JoyYou cardholder can enjoy up to a cash rebate of up to $800. The cash rebates can be collected starting from 31 August by presenting the JoyYou card via the Octopus App and Octopus Service Points.
