Octopus App Enables Applications for and Activation of Personalised Octopus
– Including Student Status Octopus and JoyYou Cards –
(Hong Kong, 14 December 2023) Octopus Cards Limited (OCL) announced that, starting today, customers can apply for Personalised Octopus through Octopus App. In addition to paying the application fee, they can check their application status, and activate their Personalised Octopus through the Octopus App.
This new feature significantly extends the Octopus App's support for the application for Personalised Octopus, further to the application for Personalised Octopus with student status and JoyYou cards. Instead of activating the new Personalised Octopus at an MTR Customer Service Centre, the activation can now be done through Octopus App. The new digital application process saves time, provides unparallel convenience, and is gentle to the environment.
Customers can simply select ‘More’ on the home page of the Octopus App, select “Personalised Octopus” and tap “New Personalised Octopus Application”. With a few clicks to input personal information, pay the application fee, and submit the required document copies, OCL will post the Personalised Octopus to the applicant's Hong Kong mailing address within 10 working days.
Customers can take advantage of an array of digital services offered through the Octopus App, such as checking a card’s remaining value and transaction history, collecting public transport fare subsidy, and making online payments, etc.
