Octopus Launches New Extendable Octopus The Handiest Way for Drivers to Pay

(Hong Kong, 30 October 2017) Octopus Cards Limited (OCL) is launching a brand new Extendable Octopus to facilitate hassle-free payments at tunnel tolls or car parks for drivers.

The Extendable Octopus is thoughtfully designed to cater to drivers' needs. It is extendable and lightweight, with an Adult Octopus ingeniously installed in the palm of its "hand” for easier top up. Drivers can enjoy a hassle-free payment experience from now on, as they no longer need to worry about alighting from their vehicles if they are not right next to the readers, in order to tap their Octopus for payments at tunnel tolls or car parks. Driving becomes even more pleasurable with the convenience brought by the Extendable Octopus.

Priced at HK$128 each, with no deposit or initial stored value, the Extendable Octopus will be available for sale from 2 November 2017 at all Circle K convenience stores in town, along with the Octopus Online Shop.

Just like other Octopus products, Extendable Octopus can be used for public transport and payments at over 21,000 retail outlets throughout Hong Kong. In addition, users can check their latest 40 transaction records and make online payments through the Octopus App on NFC-enabled mobile devices or iOS mobile devices connected with the Octopus Mobile Reader, bringing greater convenience to their daily lives. They can also apply for the Octopus Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS) and register as Octopus Rewards members to earn Reward$ at designated merchants, or make cash top-ups at OCL's authorised service providers or retailers.
