Octopus Launches "20th Anniversary Special Edition Octopus" to Celebrate Two Decades of Milestones
(Hong Kong, 5 September 2017) Octopus Cards Limited (OCL) celebrated its twentieth anniversary with the launch of a commemorative "20th Anniversary Special Edition Octopus" featuring its new logo signifying Octopus' new journey of innovation to serve the Hong Kong community.
The 20th Anniversary Special Edition Octopus features the new logo as the centerpiece on a black and grey patchwork background of the number "20", symbolising inclusion and diversity of Octopus' innovative services to serve its customers in the digital era.
To highlight the uniqueness of the card, the words "Octopus" and "20th Anniversary" are laminated with silver effect.
Priced at HK$88 each, with no deposit or initial stored value, the Special Edition Adult Octopus will be available for sale on 6 September 2017 at all MTR Customer Service Centres (except Airport Express, Disneyland Resort and Racecourse).
The 20th Anniversary Special Edition Octopus, just like other Octopus products, can be used for public transport and payments at over 20,000 retail outlets throughout Hong Kong. In addition, users can check their latest 40 transaction records and make online payments through the Octopus App on NFC-enabled mobile devices, bringing greater convenience to their daily lives. They can also apply for the Octopus Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS) and register as Octopus Rewards members to earn Reward$ at designated merchants, or make cash top-ups at OCL's authorised service providers or retailers.
