OCL Promotes Food Waste Reduction
To raise awareness amongst employees about the food waste problem in Hong Kong, and encourage them to reduce food waste, OCL has designated the month of May as the Food Wise Month. Apart from signing up to the Food Wise Charter, to promote a “waste less” culture in the company, OCL organised a series of employee engagement activities including a Food Wise Talk, Smart Snacking Day, Food Dye Experience Workshop, and a surplus food donation campaign. The activities received overwhelming support from employees as well as senior management.
Food Wise Talk

A food-wise expert from Greeners Action advised colleagues how to start reducing food waste. Big Waster attended the event as a special guest, promoting food wise tips and messages on avoiding food wastage.
Smart Snacking Day

Healthy snacks don’t have to be boring! Unsalted nuts, dried veggies and fruits, muesli, pumpkins and flax seeds are some tasty yet healthy snacks, which can be washed down with Chinese herbal tea.
Food Dye Experience

Colleagues making their self-designed tote bags using natural food dyes such as blue from broccoli, yellow from ginger and purple from purple potatoes.
Food Donation

By donating surplus food, food waste can be reduced while helping people in need.
