Former Director of Water Supplies Shares Water Policy in Hong Kong with OCL Colleagues
In a Sustainability Seminar held in October, OCL invited Ir. Ma Lee Tak, Chief Officer of KCRC and a Director of Octopus Holdings Limited, to share with our colleagues his rich experience and thought leadership in the development of water policies in Hong Kong and Asia.
Ir. Ma was the Director of Water Supplies before retiring in 2014. He was instrumental in steering the promulgation of the “Total Water Management Strategy” for Hong Kong, and mapping out the strategy for sustainable use of water, to ensure water security in supporting the development in Hong Kong. Being a water management specialist, Ir. Ma stressed the importance of the Total Water Management Strategy for ensuring a sustainable water supply and the future development of Hong Kong.
United Nations Climate Finance & Sustainable Investing Conference 2019 & WGO 7th Anniversary Dinner
In November, OCL participated in the Climate Finance & Sustainable Investing Conference 2019 organised by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the World Green Organisation (WGO).
The exclusive event brought together policy makers, private business and financial sectors, international organisations and other stakeholders, to discuss pressing issues in promoting climate-resilient investment to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and scale the Asia-Pacific’s green capital market.
Separately, OCL colleagues were invited to a dinner banquet to celebrate the 7th Anniversary of the establishment of the WGO.
