The all-in-one Octopus App for Business allows merchants to receive payment from customers using Octopus card or Octopus QR Code. It is a simple, convenient and reliable payment acceptance solution. An Android or iOS mobile device¹ installed with the Octopus App for Business works like a typical Octopus reader when a customer places his or her Octopus card* against the NFC area at the back of a merchant's mobile device. The day-to-day transaction handling has never been so easy!
The newly launched Octopus Mobile POS is designed for retailers and taxi drivers. When paired with a Bluetooth-enabled Android or iOS mobile device¹ with the Octopus App for Business installed, it allows customers or passengers to pay retailers or taxi drivers by tapping their Octopus on the Mobile POS display or scanning the Octopus QR Code on the display. There's no need to handle bank notes or coins, ensuring merchants and customers enjoy more peace of mind!
The latest version of the Octopus App for Business extends the battery usage and standby time of the Mobile POS, which now lasts up to 6 hours per charge, providing merchants a better payment acceptance experience.

¹Accepting Octopus card payment requires:
- Android – Android 6.0 or above with NFC enabled. Pairing Octopus Mobile POS – the same Android versions apply;
- iOS - iPhone 7 or newer with iOS 13 or above. Pairing Octopus Mobile POS - iPhone 5S or newer with iOS 11 or above
Simple Business account application via the mobile app!
- Simply download the Octopus App for Business on App Store or Google Play, and apply through the app. Please have the required documents ready for uploading. An SMS notification and an email notification will be received upon application approval.
No set-up cost and service fee waived, retailers and taxi drivers will be offered an Octopus Mobile POS for free!
- Receive payments via the Octopus App for Business, with no need to install any hardware or make any modifications to a store's POS system.
- Upon successful account opening, merchants can enjoy a waiver of the Bank Account Fund Transfer Fee for the first 6 months, while taxi drivers can enjoy a waiver of the Bank Account Fund Transfer Fee until further notice².
- Retail merchants and taxi drivers may receive an Octopus Mobile POS (Price : HK$228)³.

² Only one fund transfer instruction per day will be processed during the fee waiver period. Octopus Cards Limited reserves the right to cancel the waiver for the respective Octopus Business Account.

- Octopus App for Business is now connected to Faster Payment Service (FPS), enabling shop owners to instantly transfer their money in Business Accounts to their pre-registered bank accounts on a 24/7 basis!
Set up "Auto Bank Transfer" to save management time!
- Shop owners can set up the "Auto Bank Transfer" to automatically transfer all the balances in their Business Accounts to the pre-registered bank accounts on a monthly, weekly or daily basis. It saves considerable time in managing the accounts!
Flexibility enables for diverse businesses to receive payments from consumers using Octopus cards or Octopus QR Code!
- Octopus App for Business is flexible, to suit diverse businesses. Merchants can generate the QR Codes (with the transaction amount embedded if needed), export e-Tent Card or Payment Link through mobile apps, and display these on the online shop for customers to scan or click for payment.

- Cashier Mode receives real-time notification message and supports enquiries regarding transaction records.
- Shop Owner Mode supports additional functions for management of the Business Account, such as transferring funds to bank accounts, adding and removing cashiers, POS and shop management.
