"Wise Spending with Octopus" Quiz
Terms and Conditions


The following terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions") are applicable to the "Wise Spending with Octopus" Quiz ("Quiz") published in Metro Daily every Wednesday from 29 October 2008 to 23 December 2008.
  1. "Wise Spending with Octopus" Quiz is open to all residents of Hong Kong aged 18 years old and over, excluding directors and employees (and their immediate families) of Octopus Cards Limited ("Octopus"), its parent and affiliate companies, its/their respective advertising agencies and Metro Publishing HK Limited.
  2. Only one entry per person for each round of the Quiz published in each week is allowed. You must supply your full name as shown in your HKID card, telephone number and a valid email address as the winner will be contacted by email only.
  3. The prizes are 10 Sold Mini Octopus which are Sold Octopus (as defined in the Conditions of Issue) without any initial stored value. No alternative prize or cash will be offered for the prize.
  4. The first 10 entries with the correct answers for each round of the Quiz published in each week from 29 October 2008 to 23 December 2008 (each, the "Winner") shall each receive a Sold Mini Octopus.
  5. The Winner will be notified by email ("Notification Email") from Octopus and must collect the prize in person at the address notified by Octopus from time to time.
  6. When collecting the prize, the Winner must provide the original Hong Kong identity card and a copy of the redemption letter provided by Octopus for verification purpose and Octopus is entitled to make copies of the same in its sole and absolute discretion.
  7. If the Winner fails to collect the prize within one month from the date of Notification Email, the Winner shall be deemed to have forfeited his/her interest and entitlement in the prize and Octopus is entitled to dispose such prize in any manner it deems fit. The Winner shall have no claim in whatsoever manner against Octopus in connection therewith.
  8. Octopus shall not be responsible for any technical errors in telecommunication networks, internet access or otherwise that prevents entry to the Quiz or results in incomplete entry or loss, delay or misdirection of entry. Proof of delivery is not proof of receipt.
  9. Octopus shall not be responsible for any errors in telecommunication networks, internet access or otherwise that results in loss, delay or misdirection of Notification Email.
  10. Octopus shall not be responsible for any damage, loss, liability or injury incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Quiz or accepting the prize.
  11. By entering into the Quiz, you have read, accept and agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.
  12. Octopus reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions from time to time.
  13. In case of dispute, the decision of Octopus will be final and conclusive.
  14. If there are any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions of the Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
  15. The Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
