To celebrate the coming Year of the Tiger, Octopus Cards Limited ("OCL") is specially launching The Year of the Tiger 2010 Limited Edition Octopus to bring an auspicious and successful start to the new year.
The limited edition Octopus series featuring the respective Chinese zodiac signs, first introduced to the market in 2009, has been well received by the public and Octopus collectors. The Year of the Tiger 2010 Limited Edition Octopus not only carries the design motif of the Chinese zodiac-themed series, but also embodies the essence of Chinese traditional art with joyful and festive colours, symbolising robust development and the hope of success in the year to come.
Two unique designs are included in the set, featuring vivid tiger graphics as a sign of prosperity and good fortune. Limited quantities of 1,200 sets will be issued with matching serial numbers ranging from 0001 to 1200, making the set a unique collection and a perfect gift for the Chinese New Year.
From noon on 21 January 2010, the Year of the Tiger 2010 Limited Edition will be available at a price of HK$288 per set from the new Octopus online shop (www.octopus.com.hk/get-your-octopus/en/index.html). Each customer can purchase a maximum of two sets. The price does not include a deposit or stored value.
Like all Octopus products, The Year of the Tiger 2010 Limited Edition Octopus can be used on public transport and at many retail outlets across Hong Kong. They can be used to apply for the Octopus Automatic Add Value Service and registered for the Octopus Rewards Programme to earn Reward$. They can also be reloaded at any Octopus service provider or retailer authorised to provide the Octopus Add Value Service.
