(Hong Kong, 21 May 2008) Octopus Cards Limited ("Octopus") today announced the
rollout of the Memorable Hong Kong Landmarks Octopus. This
limited edition Octopus features four of the most well-known
historic landmarks in Hong Kong, namely the Peak Tower, Lai
Chi Kok Amusement Park, Lee Theatre and Tsim Sha Tsui Railway
Station.
This new series of Octopus is available in two sets - the Collection Set and
the Individual Set. The Collection Set, which will be available
from tomorrow (22 May 2008) at a price of HK$880, includes
all four Memorable Hong Kong Landmarks Octopus and a collectible
album describing their fascinating history. Available in
a limited quantity of only 3,000 sets, all cards in the Collection
Set are printed with the same serial number. The Individual
Set, on the other hand, allows consumers to pick any one
of the four card designs which come with a specially-created
jacket featuring the famous landmarks. It will be available
for sale at a unit price of HK$128 for each card design,
starting from 29 May 2008.
This Octopus series will be on sale at all 260-plus Circle
K outlets in Hong Kong, providing a convenient channel for
collectors and consumers. An initial stored value of HK$10
is included in each card for both the Collection Set and
the Individual Set.
Like all Octopus products, this Octopus
series can be used on public transport and at more than 5,000
retail outlets across Hong Kong. They can be linked to the
Octopus Automatic Add Value Service and registered for the
Octopus Rewards Programme to earn Reward$. They can also
be reloaded at any Octopus service provider or retailer authorised
to provide the Octopus add-value service.
