Change of Company Name

Creative Star Limited, the issuer of Octopus cards, announces that the Company will change its name to "Octopus Cards Limited" ("八達通卡有限公司") on 2 January 2002.

The current English ("Creative Star") and Chinese Company names ("聯俊達") adopted are hardly recognised by the general public as the issuer of Octopus cards. We believe that the new names will better reflect the major business of the Company and be easily remembered by our customers.

To tie in with the renaming exercise, our Company website will be altered to www.octopuscards.com on the same day (2 January 2002).

All contact telephone and facsimile numbers will remain unchanged.

Octopus was launched in September 1997. Today, more than 8 million cards are in circulation, with daily transaction of over 6.5 million. The Company currently has over 80 service providers including public transport, car parks, retailing services (such as convenience stores, fast food, cake shops), self-help services (vending, photo booths, photocopiers, etc), leisure facilities, schools as well as access control for housing estates.
