System
The Octopus System represents a major breakthrough in the application of smart card technology. It is designed to provide a fast, reliable, cost-effective and convenient payment platform for service providers of different sizes and business natures.
It is based on the Octopus Clearing House (OCH) System, which uses a complex set of business rules to validate each transaction prior to authorising settlement. A standard set of business reports is then sent to each participating service provider on a daily basis.
Cards and Products
Octopus is a multi-application contactless smart card or product.
Reader/Writer
The Octopus reader/writer interacts with Octopus cards to perform instructions from the interface devices.
