Used by over 4,000 vehicles in Hong Kong - including cross-border buses.

Functions

  • Has a Driver Unit to help the driver select routes and monitor payment
  • Has a Main Unit for passengers to pay fares and view transaction details
  • Checks ride validity and processes fare payment quickly and reliably
  • Can be mounted at a convenient location for passengers
  • Allows for different payment schemes on different routes
  • Allows for different fares to be collected at different sections of a journey
  • Uses a handheld device for data collection and transmission to the back-end for processing
  • Supports intermodal discounts with other Octopus payment systems

Kwoon Chung Motors, New Lantau Bus, Peak Tram, public light buses, Sun Bus and Tramways
