Waiver of Bank Account Transfer Fee
Merchants: Starting from 1 March 2025, new merchants who successfully open an account¹ will enjoy a waiver of the Bank Account Fund Transfer Fee for the first 6 months². Thereafter, the transfer fee will be reduced to 1.3% based on the transfer amount³.
Notes:
¹ All existing Octopus merchants* are not eligible to apply for a Business Account.
² The “waiver of the Bank Account Fund Transfer Fee for the first six months” is applicable to new merchants upon successful account opening of Business Account. This offer is not applicable to existing Octopus merchants*.
³ The “1.3% Bank Account Fund Transfer Fee” is not applicable to existing Octopus merchants and may not be used in conjunction with any other merchant account offers.
* Existing Octopus merchants are defined as those who have held a payment account with Octopus within the past six months.
FEHD public market stall: From 16 June 2025, FEHD public market stall operators who successfully apply for an Octopus App for Business accounts will enjoy a Bank Account Transfer Fee waiver for the first 3 years. After the waiver period, a 1% Bank Account Transfer Fee will apply. Operators will receive a complimentary Octopus Mobile POS (price : $228)⁴, enabling immediate acceptance of Octopus electronic payments with no account opening fees or setup costs.
When applying for a Business Account, please select “Wet Market” under Business Sub-type.

⁴ This offer extends to existing FEHD public market stall operators already using Octopus App for Business accounts (effective from 16 June 2025).
Taxi drivers: Octopus will continue to waive the Bank Account Fund Transfer Fee until 31 December 2025, allowing taxi drivers to continue enjoying hassle-free service.
Receive an Octopus Mobile POS for free
Retail merchants and taxi drivers may receive an Octopus Mobile POS for free upon successful account opening (price: $228). Terms and conditions apply⁵.
