Nurturing children in need
Since 2007, more than 700 children have benefited from the Octopus Kids' Nurturing Programme.

Wise Spending Happy Tour (Part I)
Among the 200 underprivileged kids participating in the Octopus Kids' Nurturing Programme 2008, 50 of those showing the most enthusiasm and making the most progress were invited to take part in a special activity in June.
Octopus Kids' Wise Spending Happy Tour gave participants a fun-filled day as well as a unique opportunity to learn and practise the principles of sound money management.
The children started their tour by travelling to Hung Hom where they saw the movie "Kung Fu Panda". Each was then given an Octopus with a stored value of HK$100 to cover expenses for food, presents for their families and a ferry ride across scenic Victoria Harbour. Under the guidance of Octopus volunteers, they planned their spending and learned how to distinguish between wants and needs.
The tour proved to be an eye-opening and enjoyable experience for all. It was the first time that 65% of them had ever been to the cinema, and half of them had never even ridden on a ferry before!
