Octopus Kids' Nurturing Programme

Nurturing children in need

Since 2007, more than 560 children have benefited from the Octopus Kids' Nurturing Programme.

Kick-off Ceremony

The first Octopus Kids' Nurturing Programme kicked off in September. Thanks to the programme, 100 underprivileged students from six primary schools in Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai were able to take part in various extracurricular activities over a period of three to four months. The activities included English drama, Chinese painting, multi-mathematical training, photographic collage, African drums and taekwondo.

At the ceremony, Dr Billy Mak, Assistant Professor of the Department of Finance and Decision Sciences of the Hong Kong Baptist University, gave a talk on how to manage finances. With the support of Octopus, each student was given an Octopus wristband with a stored value of HK$100. The students were encouraged to plan their spending and manage the amount on their own, providing them with a good opportunity to practise what they had been taught.
